This year the Indian Statistical Association’s Journal of the Indian Statistical Association (JISA) turns 50 and to celebrate the event a special Golden Jubilee volume of the journal is being published. The special issue will include articles such as the Development of Product Autoregressive Model, by N. Balakrishna and A. J. Lawrance and Extremum of Circulant Type Matrices: A Survey by A. Bose, R. S. Hazra and K. Saha.

The first issue of JISA was published in January 1963, with the late M.C. Chakrabarty as editor. Subsequently, V.S. Huzurbazar and S.R. Adke were appointed as the chief editor and secretary in 1972. Professor Adke streamlined the journal during 1972-1980 and also helped create a sound financial corpus for the association. Naik-Nimbalkar is the current chief editor of the JISA.
