The Quality and Productivity (Q&P) Section awarded a $400 scholarship to Ye Tian of Iowa State University to offset the cost of attending the 2012 Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) in San Diego, California. Ye was recognized at the joint Q&P/SPES mixer during JSM.

Looking forward to 2013, Q&P will offer up to three travel awards of $400 each to help students enrolled in a graduate program with a concentration in applied statistics and/or quality management attend JSM in Montréal, Québec, Canada, from August 3–8.

Student applicants must have a demonstrated interest in quality applications, as evidenced by course work, research topic, or work experience. Applicants either presenting a paper or participating in a poster session will receive extra consideration.
