Celebrated statistician Nate Silver will be the President’s Invited Address speaker August 5 at the 2013 Joint Statistical Meetings in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

The ASA has conducted a “satisfaction survey” of presenters after each JSM for several years. The survey includes questions adapted for the various roles and focuses on the satisfaction of the speaker behind the lectern or the presenter in front of the poster. This survey has been conducted unchanged over the last three years, covering the JSMs in Vancouver (2010), Miami Beach (2011), and San Diego (2012). This gives us a unique opportunity to evaluate results over a longer period and, in particular, look for changes over time.

Proposals for late-breaking JSM sessions are due by April 15, 2013.

The 2013 Joint Statistical Meetings will take place in Montréal, Québec, Canada, and the program committee is soliciting abstracts for topic-contributed and contributed papers, topic-contributed and contributed posters, and topic-contributed panel sessions. Submissions will be accepted until February 4.

The CSP 2013 steering committee has organized a terrific program, with talks, courses, tutorials, and posters focused on the needs of applied and consulting statisticians concerned with urgent problems, issues, and systems for clients and organizations to improve processes, products, and decisions.
