The first symposium honoring Bernard Harris, the first chair of the ASA Section on Risk Analysis, was held May 10–11 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Risk Analysis Section of the ASA is having a symposium in the department of analytics at North Carolina State University May 10–11.

The ASA Section on Risk Analysis is soliciting entries for its student/young researcher paper competition. Each year, the section offers at least one student/young researcher travel award of $1,000 to defray costs for attending and presenting at the Joint Statistical Meetings.

At this year’s JSM in Miami Beach, Florida, the Section on Risk Analysis is sponsoring numerous events and invites you to participate in them.

The ASA Section on Risk Analysis is soliciting entries for their Student Paper Competition. Each year, the section offers at least one student travel award of up to $1,000 to defray the cost of attending JSM.

For the first time, the Section on Risk Analysis jointly sponsored a mixer with the Section on Statistics in Defense and National Security at JSM. The event was successful, attracting 50 members from the two sections. Highlights included presentations of awards, discussion of future plans, and a prize raffle where many of those present won books, software, and vouchers.
