The undergraduate members of George Mason University attended this year’s DC DataFest.

ASA President-elect Wendy Martinez visited the Utah State University Data Analytics Club, an ASA student chapter.

For members of the University of Virginia Student Chapter, preparing for and attending JSM in Vancouver was a priceless experience. Not only did they get to explore some of the most exciting topics in statistics, they were given the opportunity to join various groups within the statistical community and present their work.

More than 30 students participated in Data Challenge DC, six of whom were from GMU. One of GMU’s graduate statistics students was on the team that won for best data visualization.

Approximately 25 ASA members attended a two-part event in April hosted by The University of Alabama ASA Student Chapter that included a seminar on sabermetrics (baseball statistics) and “A Night at the Ballpark” at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

The ASA’s Boston University Student Chapter had a rock-climbing social.

The Statistics Club at Florida International University hosted a counting card social, gained new members and had a lot of statistics-related fun.
