About Nancy
I was born and raised in New York City and attended the City College of New York, where I attained a bachelor’s in mathematics. I earned my PhD, also in math, at Case Western Reserve University. I’m not sure how my interest in biostatistics arose, but it was really developed at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and, more recently, at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Perhaps my greatest accomplishment was serving as president of the American Statistical Association in 2011. Other accomplishments include leading my current group and writing many papers in biomedicine and biostatistics.
