Amstat News carries display and 65-word, plain-text ads. The plain-text ads are reserved for employment listings in the Professional Opportunities section. Display ads can cover any topic, from employment to software to educational possibilities. (For an additional $175, display advertisers can link their website to their company name that is listed in the “Advertisers” box on the Amstat News website.)

Advertisers who submit display ads for employment have the option of submitting a 65-word, text-only version for the online ad system. This version will appear for free online and in print.

Text-Only Employment Ads

A text-only employment ad for print is limited to 65 words, plus any required equal opportunity information.

Text-only ads are listed alphabetically, according to state. The deadline for their receipt is the 20th of the month two months prior to when the ad is to be published (e.g., May 20 for the July issue). Ads will be published in the next available issue following receipt.

Employment ads are not commissionable, and member discounts are not given.

Employers are expected to acknowledge all responses resulting from publication of their ads. Employment advertising is only accepted with the understanding that the advertiser does not discriminate among applicants on the basis of gender, race, religion, age, color, national origin, handicap, or sexual orientation.

Display Ads

Placement

• Advertisers can have their ad placed in a specific location in Amstat News for 25% more.

Additionally, advertisers can link their website to their company name listed in the advertising box on the homepage of Amstat News for $175 more.

Agency Commission

• 15%. No cash discounts. In-house agency discount requests will not be honored.

Corporate and Institutional Member Discounts

• Corporate and institutional members of the ASA receive a 15% discount upon request.

Technical Requirements

• All artwork must be, at the minimum, 300 dpi and saved as CMYK (4 color). We accept the following computer file formats: PDF, TIF, and EPS. When sending a PDF, embed all fonts and make sure all line art is at least 1200 dpi.

Issuance and Closing Dates

• Purchase orders are due the 20th of the month two months prior to when the ad is to be published.
• Camera-ready ads are due the 20th of the month two months prior to when the ad is to be published.
• The editor reserves the right to restrict the percentage of advertising in each issue.
• Amstat News guarantees a mailing date on or before the 12th of the month of issue, but is not responsible for delays associated with postal problems.

Circulation

There is a minimum guarantee of 17,000 copies per issue. Subscription is included as part of membership dues to the American Statistical Association. The circulation area includes the United States, Canada, and most foreign countries.

Sidebar Ads

Sizes and Rates

• 300 x 100 (pixels) at $400 a month
• 300 x 300 (pixels) at $800 a month

Location

Ads will appear in the sidebar. Please contact the ASA’s advertising manager to discuss specific location. No discounts will be given.

Technical Requirements

Ads must be 72 dpi and in .jpg or .png format.

Issuance and Closing Dates

Ads must be received by the first of the month preceding the month of publication (e.g., May 1 for the June issue).

Online Advertising Policies

• Animated and blinking ads are not accepted.
• The ASA reserves the right to refuse advertising.
