Submissions are now being accepted for the 2013 Biopharmaceutical Student Paper awards, presented annually during the Biopharmaceutical Section open business meeting held during JSM. Winners will present their paper in one of the contributed paper sessions at JSM 2013 in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

As 2011 has drawn to a close and 2012 begins, the outgoing and incoming Biopharmacuetical Section chairs have decided to shake things up a bit by starting a new ‘tradition’—a jointly authored transition letter. Not only will they recognize some with a well-deserved thank you, but they also will look ahead to new faces and efforts taking shape for 2012.

Biopharmaceutical Section Sponsors 35th MBSW

The Midwest Biopharmaceutical Statistics Workshop (MBSW) will be hosted by Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, from May 21–23 for the 35th consecutive year. MBSW was created to meet the needs of U.S. pharmaceutical industry statisticians in the Midwest, but continues to welcome attendees from across the country and around the world.

Student Paper Award 2012 Submission Requirements Announced

Student paper awards ($1,000 for first place) are presented annually during the Biopharmaceutical Section open business meeting held at the Joint Statistical Meetings. Student research papers with statistical content applicable to the biopharmaceutical arena are eligible for consideration.

Do you know someone in the Biopharmaceutical Section who you think deserves to become an ASA Fellow? If so, visit the Fellows web page to determine whether that person is already an ASA Fellow. If he/she is not, review the list of criteria for rating nominees and then send your nomination to the Biopharmaceutical Section Fellows Committee.
