The Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences 2026 Mathematical Sciences Survey will collect enrollment data from US math and statistics departments nationwide, continuing a five-decade tradition of tracking educational trends to help institutions understand student patterns and secure academic resources.
Active Learning Focus of CBMS Joint Statement
A joint statement, Active Learning in Postsecondary Mathematics, released in July of 2016 by the Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences, calls on the mathematics and statistics communities to make a commitment to create classroom learning environments that encourage students to “try, fail, and not give up.”
CBMS Seeks Enrollment Data
Since 1965, the Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences has undertaken a comprehensive study of U.S. undergraduate programs in the mathematical sciences, with funding from the National Science Foundation and support from the mathematical sciences professional societies.
