The ASA’s big tent grew bigger recently with the addition of the Text Analysis Interest Group (TAIG). The group was petitioned in the fall of 2018 and formally approved by the Council of Sections Executive Committee in March 2019.

Lifetime Data Science (LiDS) Is Newest ASA Section
The ASA Section on Lifetime Data Science (LiDS) is the latest to be voted in by the Council of Sections. The objective of the section is to promote and support the development, application, and appropriate use of statistical methods for the design and analysis of studies of life history processes.
Statistics in Mental Health Research: New ASA Interest Group
A New ASA interest group, Statistics in Mental Health Research, was formed in June to help communicate and facilitate further advancements for the mental health field.
