ASA’s Career Success Factors initiative is sponsoring the half-day course in conjunction with JSM 2013. It will cover topics such as slide preparation, crafting your argument, oral presentations, and communicating statistical ideas.
New Strategic Initiative Shapes Up
The Biometrics Section is supporting a new initiative, titled “Raising Interest in Biostatistics Careers Among Miami High-School Students.” One component of the project is the development of an online “base” presentation that explains the biostatistics field, including the educational expectations and job opportunities. Another component involves classroom visits by volunteer speakers to selected Miami AP statistics and mathematics classes.
