Staff Spotlight
Cheryl Behrens
Hello, my name is Cheryl Behrens and I am the ASA’s new registration coordinator. I will be processing your conference registrations, coordinating badges and tickets, working at the conference registration tables, and helping the customer service and meetings departments in any way possible. I am excited to be part of this team and want to take a minute to tell you a bit about myself.
I’m originally from Califon, a small town in New Jersey. I moved to Virginia to attend James Madison University (Go, Dukes!), where I earned a degree in communication studies and minored in anthropology. Upon graduating, I moved to northern Virginia and worked for the National Association of Women Business Owners(NAWBO) in their member and chapter relations department.
After a year with NAWBO, I was accepted into AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) in Sacramento, California. While serving with NCCC, I worked for the 2009 Special Olympic World Winter Games in Boise, Idaho (which was bigger than the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah); the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust in Fresno, California; Green Light New Orleans; and Campfire USA in Lake Charles, Louisiana. I was fortunate to see a great deal of the country and meet some amazing people during my time with AmeriCorps. I graduated from NCCC last August and subsequently moved back to the DC area.
In my free time, I like to escape the city life and go hiking, camping, or canoeing. I also love traveling; whether it is back to New Jersey or across the ocean, I love it!
I enjoyed meeting many of you at the 2009 FDA/Industry Statistics Workshop and I look forward to meeting many more at upcoming conferences. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact me at cheryl@amstat.org.
