The section will have its annual open business meeting and mixer during JSM 2011 in Miami Beach, Florida. This is an opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Food and drinks will be provided, along with some surprises.

ENVR is sponsoring several invited sessions and two roundtables. Following is a list of topics and organizers:

    • Estimating Forest Carbon, organized by Ron McRoberts of the U.S. Forest Service
    • Computational and Inferential Issues in Spatio-Temporal Modeling, organized by Chae Young Lim of Michigan State University
    • Sequential Environmental Sampling, organized by Nitis Mukhopadhyay of the University of Connecticut
    • Recent Advances in Modeling Spatial and Temporal Data, organized by Marc G. Genton of Texas A&M University
    • The Present and Potential Role of Statistics in Paleoclimate Reconstruction for Learning About Climate Change, organized by Bo Li of Purdue University
    • Statistics for Wind Energy, organized by Marc G. Genton of Texas A&M University
