Darrell Philpot

Affiliation: Senior Director, Data Science and Advanced Analytics at IQVIA
Educational Background: MS and BS, Statistics, University of Georgia

Darrell Philpot has nearly 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including in market research, forecasting, survey sampling, promotion modeling, and sales force and managed care analysis. He also has experience in evaluating alternate data sources for use in research and consulting projects, creating estimation methodologies, and collaborating on new product developments.

Currently the senior director of data science and advanced analytics at IQVIA, Philpot leads a team responsible for supporting US-syndicated offerings, which includes supply chain data, prescription information (rxs and patients), promotion data, hospital supply data, and disease and therapeutic data.

In his previous role at AlphaImpactRx’s (now part of IQVIA), Philpot led the design and execution of data and analytics strategy, including the continued build-out of its analytic services team to reinforce the company’s ability to deliver higher-level insight through targeted analytic offerings and solutions.

During a stint with the Analytic Consulting Group at Adheris Health (now Syneos), Philpot’s responsibilities included developing predictive models on adherence and acquisition programs and analytics on program results.

Earlier in his career, Philpot headed the Americas Statistical Services team at IMS Health (now IQVIA) and was director of data strategy for NDC Health (PRA Health Science), where he was responsible for evaluating alternate data sources for use in research and consulting projects, creating estimation methodologies, and collaborating on new product developments.

Philpot feels lucky to have been mentored by his college professor, Kermit Hutcheson, as well as Ken Copland and Paul Wilson. He has spoken at several industry conferences and received several company-wide awards for performance.
