New officers for 2022 are Brady West (chair-elect), Andreea Erciulescu (program chair), Qixuan Chen (secretary), and Kristen Olson (COS representative).

Outgoing officers include Morgan Earp (past chair), Brady West (program chair), Gina Walejko (secretary), and Julia Soulakova (COS representative).

Nine SRMS members were named ASA Fellows this year. They are Julia Bienias, Stephanie Eckman, Elena Erosheva, Stanislav Kolenikov, Yan Li, Bo Lu, Pamela McGovern, Sowmya Rao, and Jasjeet Sakhon.

JSM 2022 Topic-Contributed Session Proposals

JSM 2022 topic-contributed session proposals are due December 9. These sessions include papers (five speakers with 20 minutes each; at least three presenters and no more than two discussants), panels (3–6 panelists providing commentary about a topic), and posters (10–15 participants with posters addressing a common topic).

A topic-contributed session proposal includes a session title, general description of the session, list of participants, and tentative talk titles.

If you are interested in organizing a topic-contributed session, select a session topic and solicit potential speakers. Once you have a sufficient number of committed speakers, you can submit your proposal.

JSM Student Travel, Paper Awards

SRMS sponsors student travel awards to help cover the cost of attending JSM. Along with the Government Statistics and Survey Statistics sections, SRMS co-sponsors student paper awards. Winners will present their papers in a special JSM 2022 session. Applications are due December 15.
