Musie S. Ghebremichael

Principal Investigator, Harvard Medical School

Musie S. Ghebremichael was born and raised in Eritrea, where he fostered a love of mathematics and medicine from his early days and earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.

Ghebremichael came to the states to do his graduate studies, earned a PhD in statistics from Rice University, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University.

Currently, he is an associate professor of biostatistics at Harvard Medical School, an associate investigator at Massachusetts General Hospital, an associate director of the Harvard Center for AIDS Research biostatistics and bioinformatics core, and director of biostatistics/database core at the Ragon Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard.

He previously worked as a statistician for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Eastern Oncology Group.

Outside of work, he enjoys reading books, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
