Summary of Quality and Productivity Section Executive Committee Business Meeting ​

The Quality and Productivity Section Executive Committee convened for a business meeting via teleconference on January 21. ​ Maria Weese, John Szarka, Shan Ba, Qiong Zhang, Annie Dudley, Lauren Wilson, Peng Liu, Caleb King, Jeff Hooper, Henry Yuchi, Kade Young, Adam Pintar, Jie Min, and Reid Landes attended. Following is a record of what they discussed.

The 2025 Quality and Productivity Research Conference will be held in Seattle, Washington, June 16–18 at the University of Washington campus. A full-day short course, titled “From Users to Builders: Transform Yourself for the Age of AI,” by Yuzheng Sun will take place on June 15.

The goal of QPRC is to stimulate interdisciplinary research and innovative solutions to practical problems through interactions among statisticians, data scientists, quality professionals, engineers, students, and others from diverse fields. The theme of this year’s conference is “Industrial Innovation in the Era of AI.” The technical program will focus on statistical methodology and creative problem-solving to address scientific, industrial, and business challenges, drawing on advances from the fields of statistics, machine learning, data science, and AI.
