The Scientific and Public Affairs Advisory Committee invites all Joint Statistical Meetings 2026  poster contributors to compete for a policy applications prize in its Statistical Significance Poster Competition. A prize of $300 is awarded to the top entry. The deadline to enter is February 28.

A JSM Statistical Significance poster entry is a one-page illustration of the value of statistics to society. The objective is to illustrate to a layperson how the statistical solution to the problem presented in the poster would help form decisions that improve society in specific areas, such as health, agriculture, economy, education, manufacturing, and medicine.

Contest participants must include a one-page Statistical Significance piece with their poster presentation at JSM and file an intent-to-participate form. Both the scientific merit of the poster and the Statistical Significance piece will be judged.
