To assist ASA sections and committees that are planning surveys, the SRC will hold an open meeting during JSM 2011. Members and representatives of ASA sections and committees currently developing a survey or considering one in the near future are encouraged to attend.

During 2011, SPA has followed a number of important policy initiatives that have relevance for ASA members and the statistical community as a whole.

This summer at JSM in Miami, the Committee on Professional Ethics will present a line-up of sessions, with one happening each day of the week.

Members of the Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies are pleased to announce the 2010 award winners, presented during JSM in Vancouver, British Columbia, on August 4 by COPSS president, Xihong Lin.

The ASA’s Committee on Professional Ethics is a resource for ASA officers, the ASA Board of Directors, and ASA members. In recent years, the committee has been asked for comments on and recommendations for ethical issues concerning statistical dissemination, plagiarism, and accreditation.
