Eight ASA members were elected AAAS Fellows, plus Kanti Mardia, Melissa Chiu, Brian Harris-Kojetin, Prabhakara Narasandra, and Prithwis Kumar De all made remarkable achievements.

In November, the American Association for the Advancement of Science council elected nearly 500 members as fellows. A virtual induction ceremony for the 489 newly elected fellows will take place on February 13.

The AAAS is currently looking for statisticians to join its fellowship program. The AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellowships (STPF) are the premier opportunity for outstanding mathematicians, statisticians, scientists, and engineers at any career stage to learn first-hand about policymaking while contributing their STEM mindset to American government.
