Statistics in Epidemiology Section news for May 2014

The Section on Statistics in Epidemiology invites applications from young investigators who will present their papers at JSM 2014, August 2–7 in Boston, Massachusetts. The awards honor the best papers by young investigators in statistics in epidemiology presented at JSM.

The Statistics in Epidemiology Section invites all ASA members and their families to the their awards reception at JSM, where the 2013 Nathan Mantel Lifetime Achievement Award and young investigator awards will be presented.

The Statistics in Epidemiology Section is the primary sponsor for eight invited sessions, eight topic-contributed sessions, 18 contributed sessions, five roundtable discussions, and one short course at this year’s Joint Statistical Meetings.

The Section on Statistics in Epidemiology will sponsor the short course “Causal Inference and Its Application in Health Sciences” at the Joint Statistical Meetings.

The Section on Statistics in Epidemiology invites nominations for the Nathan Mantel Award for lifetime contributions to the development and application of statistical science to problems and issues in epidemiology. The award consists of $1,000 and a plaque.
