Recently, the Biopharmaceutical Section conducted a survey of the editors and associate editors of several applied statistics journals with a biopharmaceutical orientation. The survey was designed to be open-ended and asked the editors to list—based on their experiences—three don’ts commonly seen in submitted manuscripts and three dos.

Kelly H. Zou
Zou is a native of Shanghai, and her work on receiver operating characteristic analysis has led to her being the recipient of the Stauffer Award for the best article published in Academic Radiology. She has received multiple prizes in the ASA Biopharmaceutical Section’s poster competitions and Statistical Significance contests and held a number of leadership roles.
Biopharmaceutical Section Creates Scholarship Award
Starting in 2018, the Biopharmaceutical Section will offer a $1,000 scholarship to three students annually to recognize notable research, academic achievement, and applied project work related to biopharmaceutical statistics.
