On September 14, 2015, the waves from a distant merger of two black holes met the Laser Interferometer Gravitational wave Observatory and produced a signal, the culmination of more than four decades of effort sponsored by the National Science Foundation and international sources.

SAMSI Offers Two New Research Programs for 2014–2015
