The Statistical Computing and Statistical Graphics sections of the ASA are cosponsoring a student paper competition on the topics of statistical computing and statistical graphics. Students are encouraged to submit a paper in one of these areas, which might be original methodological research, a novel computing or graphical application in statistics, or a software-related project.

American Society of Agronomy Creates Statistical Section
The American Society of Agronomy’s newly formed Biometry and Statistical Computing Section announces the creation of three communities started with current members responding to the most recent needs of applied statistical applications in the agronomic, crops, and soil sciences.
Student Paper Competition Announced
The Statistical Computing and Statistical Graphics sections are cosponsoring a student paper competition on the topics of statistical computing and statistical graphics. The selected winners will present their papers in a topic-contributed session at JSM 2011 in Miami, Florida.
