Nominations Wanted for Distinguished Achievement Award

February 1, 2011 Leave a Comment

The Statistics in Defense and National Security (SDNS) Section invites nominations for the SDNS Distinguished Achievement Award. This annual award is given to a member of the statistical community in recognition of an outstanding accomplishment or a record of sustained contribution at the intersection of statistics and national defense or security.

Nominations should include a short description of the basis for the award, contact information for both the nominator and the nominee, and suggested text for the certificate. A maximum of five generic ativan drug seconding letters submitted in PDF form are welcome.

Unsuccessful nominations from previous years are not carried forward to the next year; therefore, new nomination packages should be prepared for previous nominees. Electronic nominations are preferred and should be emailed to Patricia Jacobs at pajacobs@nps.edu by March 15.

The award, which does not include a monetary prize, will be presented at the 2011 Joint Statistical Meetings in Miami Beach, Florida. Any member of the section is allowed to nominate.
