The Section on Statistics in Defense and National Security sponsored the student poster prize session at the Conference on Data Analysis. There were 28 students presenting posters, and three prizes were awarded.

Nominations Wanted for Distinguished Achievement Award
The Statistics in Defense and National Security Section invites nominations for the SDNS Distinguished Achievement Award. This annual award is given to a member of the statistical community in recognition of an outstanding accomplishment or a record of sustained contribution at the intersection of statistics and national defense or security.
Priebe Wins Achievement Award
The Statistics in Defense and National Security (SDNS) Distinguished Achievement Award was presented to Carey E. Priebe during the section’s business meeting and mixer at JSM 2010 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Priebe was given the award for outstanding leadership and accomplishments on research projects for the Navy, Army, Air Force, DARPA, and the intelligence community.
