More than 50 statisticians from ASA chapters and sections volunteered their time to judge 1,409 science projects competing for the ASA Special Award in Statistics.

The 2021 International Science and Engineering Fair was held virtually April 29 – May 21 and, as they have for more than 30 years, ASA members volunteered as judges for the projects.

The Bay Area Biotech-Pharma Statistics Workshop provided statisticians, data scientists, and other colleagues with a venue to connect, learn, and grow.

In addition to supporting individual chapter-level activities and association-wide initiatives, the Council of Chapters is dedicated to making use of the Joint Statistical Meetings to strengthen chapters. Is your chapter representative going to the sponsored meetings?

Sixteen members of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter chose Nolan Kamitaki from Waiakea High School in Hilo, Hawaii, as the winner of the ASA Council of Chapters prize for the best use of statistics at the 2010 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
