The first biennial Electronic Conference on Teaching Statistics (eCOTS) was hosted by the Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics from May 13–18. The conference was presented over the Internet and showcased three themes: Debating the Big Ideas of Teaching Statistics, Statistics for the Modern Student, and Commercial Resources for Teaching Statistics.

The first electronic Conference on Teaching Statistics (eCOTS) will take place from May 14–18 through the Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics Education.
USCOTS Has Another Exceptional Year
The fourth biennial USCOTS took place May 19–21 at the Research Triangle Embassy Suites in Cary, North Carolina.
Undergraduate Statistics Project Competition Announced
The Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics (CAUSE) has announced the third biennial Undergraduate Statistics Project Competition (USPROC). The purpose of the competition is to encourage the development of data analysis skills, to enhance presentation skills, and to recognize outstanding work by undergraduate statistics students. Cash prizes and a plaque will be provided to the top three winners.
Four Chosen as USPROC Winners
Four winning and four honorable mention projects were selected for the 2009 Undergraduate Statistics Project Competition, sponsored by the Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics Education.
CAUSE, SERC Provide Teaching Activities
The Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics Education has collaborated with the Science Education Resource Center project to connect activities for statistics classes with details of different pedagogical methods. Here are some examples of these methods.
CAUSE to Host Pre-JMM Workshops
The Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics Education will host two pre-conference workshops on January 12, the day before the opening of the MAA-AMS Joint Mathematics Meetings 2010 in San Francisco.
