The ASA Advisory Committee on Climate Change Policy and the Section on Statistics and the Environment sent four statisticians to the eighth annual Climate Science Day on Capitol Hill at the end of January. As reported last year, participants again noted the changing tone of climate change discussions in many offices.

ASA Members Leonard Smith and Daniel Cooley were among 22 scientists participating in 80 meetings with members of Congress and their staff as part of the 6th annual Climate Science Day in February.

Four members of the ASA Advisory Committee for Climate Change Policy participated in the fifth annual Climate Science Day (CSD)—an event that brings scientists of many disciplines together to meet with members of Congress or their staff to discuss climate change.

The third annual Climate Science Day took place February 27, with the ASA providing eight of the 50 participating scientists.
Statisticians Participate in Climate Science Day on Capitol Hill
Five members of the ASA’s Advisory Committee on Climate Change Policy joined 30 scientists from other disciplines to participate in the first Climate Science Day on February 17. The scientists formed multidisciplinary teams to meet with members of Congress or their staffs about climate science and offer their help in answering questions relating to climate science.
