New Lecture Series Honors Legacy of Dionne Price

Starting in 2025, the Dionne Price Public Lecture will be a celebration of our profession, which informs decisions and drives discoveries, and will advance the mission of promoting the practice and profession of statistics. The series is supported by donations, which are used to pay for expenses associated with an annual lecture, including an honorarium and travel expenses for the lecturer, the venue, and livestreaming.

ASA Launches Giving Campaign with Story of Outstanding High-School Student

This month, the ASA is launching an education campaign that will run through the end of November to raise funds and awareness for education programs and resources that support the learning and teaching of statistics. As part of the campaign kick-off, ASA President-elect Barry Nussbaum interviewed an outstanding high-school student, Jenny Chen, who presented a poster at JSM 2016 in Chicago.

The ASA received more than $115,000 from ASA members and other individuals and approximately $26,500 in corporate matching gifts and other support for a total of nearly $142,000. Additionally, John Bartko gave more than $25,000 to establish the John J. Bartko Scholarship. Thank you!
