Wray Jackson Smith Scholarship Offers $1,000 for Government Statisticians
The scholarship is awarded to early-career statisticians so they can explore opportunities in government statistics, honoring Smith’s legacy in federal statistics. Apply by May 1.

Two NIH Leaders Honored with Griffith Mentoring Award
The ASA’s Government Statistics Section recently awarded the Jeanne E. Griffith Mentoring Award to two women from the National Institutes of Health: Nancy L. Geller, director of the Office of Biostatistics Research at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and Clarice R. Weinberg, principal investigator in the biostatistics and computational biology branch of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

Awarded jointly by the ASA’s Government Statistics and Social Statistics sections, this scholarship encourages promising young statisticians to consider a career in government statistics.
