This year’s Joint Statistical Meetings was particularly special because the ASA celebrated its 175th anniversary. There were special events, a slew of activities, and a few firsts. Part of “celebrating our past, energizing our future” is recognizing the importance of ASA sections in the life and growth of our association. Two months out from the start of our 175th anniversary year, we look at the past, present, and future of sections and encourage everyone to join in.
