James O’Malley Wins Award for Methodological Research
The ASA External Nominations and Awards Committee successfully nominated James O’Malley, professor of biomedical data science for The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, for the 2019 Award for Excellence in Methodology in Health Economics and Outcomes Research from the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research.
Ralph D’Agostino: Editor, Adviser, Researcher, Professor
Ralph D’Agostino stepped down from his role as editor of Statistics in Medicine December 31, 2019. The major areas in which he excelled include being the lead biostatistician for the Framingham Heart Study, a biostatistical consultant to The New England Journal of Medicine, a member and consultant on federal drug advisory committees, and a 52-year faculty member in mathematics and statistics at Boston University.
Dionne Price
Dionne Price always enjoyed applied mathematics in school, but it was the chance to intern for the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke that sparked her love of biostatistics. Now at the FDA, she provides leadership to statisticians involved in the development and application of methodology used in the regulation of anti-infective, anti-viral, ophthalmology, rare diseases, urology, and reproductive drug products. She also writes poetry, including “The Journey” here.
