The Jeanne E. Griffith Mentoring Award recognizes and encourages mentoring junior staff in the statistical community in federal, state, or local government.

The winners are anticipated to attend the Joint Statistical Meetings; present their work; and participate in the sections’ business meetings to formally receive their awards.

The award is given by the ASA to a person or team that does the most to enhance the teaching and learning of causal inference in statistics.

ASA members Barbara A. Bailar, Carol Joyce Blumberg, and Johannes Ledolter passed away recently.

The International Conference on Health Policy Statistics provides a forum for practitioners, health service researchers, statistical methodologists, health economists, and policy analysts to discuss research needs and solutions to methodological challenges in study design and data analysis for health policy research.

The award is bestowed upon an ASA member who has demonstrated over a long period extraordinary leadership in developing the careers of statistics students, statisticians, or statistical researchers early in their careers. Nominations are due March 1.

The prize is awarded in even-numbered years to a North American statistician whose outstanding research contributions include innovations that have affected statistics practice and whose PhD degree is at least 25 years old.

Early-career statisticians can apply or be nominated for the Annie T. Randall Innovator Award, named for a Black female statistician for her pioneering career in government amid pervasive racial discrimination.

The Edward C. Bryant Scholarship Trust Fund honors Westat’s cofounder and helps support a student’s graduate education.

Apply by March 31 for this scholarship opportunity, which raises awareness and support the success of LGBTQ+ statisticians and data scientists, as well as allies.
