Sections Announce Student Paper Competition Results

The Government Statistics Section, Survey Research Methods Section, and Social Statistics Section chose the following for student paper awards. Each will receive $1,000 to travel to JSM 2024 and present their paper during a topic-contributed session:

  • Priyanjali Bukke
  • Yanghyeon Cho
  • Jessica Kunke
  • Jonathan Mendelson
  • Mateo Dulce Rubio

Additionally, the following were chosen as honorable mentions:

  • Zhanyu Wang
  • Shuozhi Zuo

The winners will receive their awards during the section business meetings.

Darcy Steeg Morris, Chris Moriarity, and Maria Cuellar served as reviewers.

JSM 2024 Invited Sessions

The Survey Research Methods Section is sponsoring the following four invited sessions at JSM 2024:

  • Bayesian Dependent Data Models and Machine Learning for Official Statistics and Survey Methodology
  • Combining Probability and Non-Probability Data: Considerations, Methods, and Applications
  • Challenging Aspects of Small Area and Survey Research
  • Innovative Statistical and Machine Learning Methods for Survey Data
