Rochester and Syracuse Chapters Organize Mini-Conference
The Rochester and Syracuse chapters of the American Statistical Association are jointly organizing the first ASA upstate mini-conference, to take place March 31 at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York.
The keynote speaker is Jason Hsu, from the department of statistics at The Ohio State University. The main theme for the meeting is “Harnessing the Power of Statistics Education.” Additional themes include the following:
- Approaches to Teaching Core Statistical Concepts
- Technology in Statistics (Statistical Software and Beyond)
- Practice of Statistics (Using Applications as Catalysts for Deeper Understanding)
