Chair Eric Rancourt led the Survey Research Methods Section through the Joint Statistical Meetings in 2025 with invited paper sessions, topic-contributed sessions, speed poster sessions, and roundtables. SRMS also organized a get-together and lunch with students and held their annual general meeting online immediately after JSM.

SRMS granted 10 awards this year, giving five awards for student papers, three awards for student travel to JSM, and two awards for poster sessions. Further, three SRMS members became ASA Fellows and one received the Founders Award. The section communicated consistently with members via two newsletters, regular group emails, 12 Amstat News articles (one each month), and an updated website.

In 2025, SRMS organized a donation drive, provided the ASA with statistical inputs concerning a US House of Representatives appropriations bill, and identified improvements to be proposed to members on the section’s charter this year. The section also organized two academic career panel webinars and a webinar on hard-to-reach populations. The section is working on scheduling three webinars for 2026, possibly with other ASA sections as cosponsors.
