May 1, 2026 Leave a Comment

In 2025, the following ASA members were elected as Fellows in the Section on Statistics of the American Association for the Advancement of Science:

  • Francesca Chiaromonte, Pennsylvania State University
  • James J. Cochran, The University of Alabama
  • David J. Corliss, Grafham Analytics
  • Yingying Fan, University of Southern California
  • Steven Neil MacEachern, The Ohio State University
  • Peter X. K. Song, University of Michigan
  • Lance A. Waller, Emory University

This honor acknowledges their contributions to advancing science, its applications in service to society, and eminence among their peers and colleagues. Election as an AAAS Fellow is a distinguished honor in the scientific community and celebrates scientific and socially significant achievements throughout careers.

AAAS—the world’s largest general scientific society and publisher of the Science family of journals—has annually recognized scientists and others across disciplines for their accomplishments since 1874. Fellows’ accomplishments include pioneering research, leadership within their field, teaching and mentoring, fostering collaborations, and advancing public understanding of science.
