Changbao Wu, an ASA Fellow and professor of statistics at the University of Waterloo, has received the 2026 Gold Medal of the Statistical Society of Canada. The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to the theory and practice of survey methodology, including innovations in model-calibration techniques, empirical likelihood methods for complex survey data, and the analysis of non-probability survey samples.
