The Biometrics Section will sponsor two Continuing Education courses and six invited sessions at the 2015 Joint Statistical Meetings in Seattle, Washington.

The Biometrics Section will sponsor two Continuing Education courses and six invited sessions at the 2015 Joint Statistical Meetings in Seattle, Washington. The section will also fund up to three projects, with total funding of $3,000 to $5,000 per project this year.

Daniels Durante of the University of Padova was awarded the David P. Byar Young Investigator Award for 2015. Nine travel awards were also given. Read about the winners and what the Biometrics Section has planned for JSM 2015.

Are you part of the Biometrics Section and want to get more involved in JSM? Consider volunteering to chair a session. The ASA Biometrics Section also invites applications for funding to support career-development efforts for assistant professors or associate/full professors interested in moving into a new research area. A one-page application is due February 15.

Abstract submissions for contributed and topic-contributed papers will be accepted online until February 2, 2015. Those interested in organizing a topic-contributed session should notify the 2015 JSM Biometrics Section chair, Rebecca Hubbard, and submit a proposal online by January 15, 2015.
