The Biopharmaceutical Section held its JSM poster competition during its mixer at the 2010 Joint Statistical Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia. Three awards were given.
FDA/Industry Statistics Workshop on Horizon
The three-day FDA/Industry Statistics Workshop is one of a series of annual events that have been sponsored by the ASA Biopharmaceutical Section in cooperation with the FDA Statistical Association since 1996. This year’s workshop will be held September 20–22 at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, DC.
JSM 2010 Offers Learning Opportunities

FDA/DIA Statistics Forum
The FDA/DIA statistics forum will take place April 18–21 in Bethesda, Maryland. The forum provides a venue to discuss important statistical issues associated with the development and review of therapeutic drugs and biologics.
Career Video ‘Trial’ Sees First Positive Result

33rd MBSW on the Horizon
Ball State University will host the 33rd annual Midwest Biopharmaceutical Statistics Workshop (MBSW), cosponsored by the Biopharmaceutical Section, from May 24–26.
This year’s workshop theme revolves around how the role of statistics is adapting to change within the pharmaceutical industry.

Web-Based Training Program Convenient, Successful
Web-based training has become a standard teaching tool for the Biopharmaceutical Section because it is both convenient and cost effective.
Paper Award Guidelines Announced
Student paper awards ($1,000 prize) are presented annually during the Joint Statistical Meetings Biopharmaceutical Section open business meeting. Student research papers with statistical content applicable to the biopharmaceutical arena are eligible for consideration.
