Jess Craig has been selected as the ASA’s 2020 AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellow.

Jess Craig—an epidemiologist who has worked in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East—has been selected as the ASA’s 2020 AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellow and will train as a science journalist with NPR.

You need to be able to synthesize and analyze a large amount of information, and boil it down to its essence. You need to communicate complicated ideas in a way that’s easy for nonspecialists to understand. And you’re trained to have a healthy sense of skepticism.
