Detroit, Ann Arbor Chapter Members Judge Science Fair Projects
Members of the Detroit and Ann Arbor chapters served as professional award judges for the Michigan Science and Engineering Fair on April 6. The event was held at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan, with qualifying students from the state’s regional fairs.

Biometrics Section Grant Helps Introduce Field to High-School Students
Biometrics Section member Michelle Shardell developed a virtual introduction to biostatistics for sophomores. Upon evaluation, more than 90 percent of responders would recommend the session, and interest in pursuing additional coursework or degree programs in biostatistics increased.
ASA 2021 Data Visualization Poster and Statistics Project Competitions Winners Announced
First-place winners receive $300, a certificate, and grade-appropriate graphing calculators for themselves and their advisers provided by Texas Instruments. Second-place winners receive $200 and a certificate; third-place winners receive $100 and a certificate; and honorable mentions receive certificates.
