Nominations Open for Health Science Awards
The Teaching of Statistics in the Health Sciences Section offers four annual awards: the Young Investigator Award for promising early-career educators or researchers; the Outstanding Teaching Award for excellence in statistics education; the Distinguished Achievement Award for longtime service to the section and ASA; and Best Contributed Paper at JSM Award. Diversity Mentoring Program, StatFest See Record Participation
For the first time in four years, the Committee on Minorities in Statistics held in-person meetings for both its signature programs, the Diversity Mentoring Program and StatFest. The Diversity Mentoring Program matched 45 mentees to mentors across all sectors of statistics. And, despite Tropical Storm Ophelia landing the same day, StatFest welcomed approximately 170 attendees.
