ENVR Announces Distinguished Achievement Medal, Young Investigator Award
The ASA Section on Statistics and the Environment (ENVR) is seeking nominations for the 2012 ENVR Distinguished Achievement Medal and the 2012 ENVR Young Investigator Award. Both are given in recognition of outstanding contributions to the development of methods, issues, concepts, applications, and initiatives in environmental statistics.

Epidemiology Section Lauds Award Winners
The Statistics in Epidemiology (SIE) Section would like to congratulate Mitchell Gail of the National Cancer Institute for winning the 2011 Nathan Mantel Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifetime contributions to the intersection of statistical science and epidemiology. Congratulations also go to the following winners of the 2011 SIE Young Investigator Award: Jennifer Feder Bobb, Tamar Sofer, Jessica Myers, Ying Guo, Jun Li, Thomas Birkner, Nicole Bohme Carnegie, Matthew White, Farid Jamshidian, Karen McKeown, Arpita Ghosh, and Aasthaa Bansal.
