The Section on Statistics and the Environment’s annual open business meeting/mixer is tentatively scheduled for the evening of August 2. Please join us, catch up with old friends, and meet new faces. Food and drinks will be provided, along with some surprises.

In addition to the five invited sessions and two roundtables announced in the May issue of Amstat News, ENVR is sponsoring several topic-contributed sessions. Following is a list of topics and organizers:

  • Methodological Research and Uncertainty Study in Environmental Spatio-Temporal Analysis
Organizers: Alexander Kolovos, SAS Institute; Andreas Langousis, University of Patras; and Megan Liedtke, University of Nebraska-Lincoln
  • Recent Developments in Statistical Ecology
Organizer: Mevin Hooten, USGS Colorado Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit
  • Statistics in the Environmental and Geophysical Sciences
Organizer: Stephan R. Sain, National Center for Atmospheric Research

For details, visit the JSM online program.

If you have ideas for invited session topics for JSM 2012, to be held July 28 to August 2 in San Diego, California, contact the 2012 ENVR program chair, Jarrett Barber, at Jarrett.Barber@asu.edu.
